Above and beyond anything we had expected

The trip was fantastic! Above and beyond anything we had expected. The company, ORYX Voyage was the most exciting, professional and reliable company we ever worked with, and we visited 52 countries, so we have some experience. Abdenur, the owner of the company was our wonderful guide and during our three weeks there became our friend. He found the best local guides everywhere we went- Said, Daoud, Kada, David- as I write their name, the smile comes- they were all wonderful, knowledgeable, accommodating. The country itself is beautiful, friendly and very safe. We went everywhere, never once had a bad experience. Roman ruins are one of the best in the world. Sahara desert is at its best there. Small 1500 years old towns are very different and interesting. And above all- people, kind, open minded, we had very interesting conversations with all of them. Food was excellent! We were planing the next trip to Algeria even before we left! Can’t wait to go back!

This is the best ever service I have ever used to travel. At first, I’ll admit, I was a bit unsure about how the visa process would work since we were coming from Canada and my doubts were crushed right away when I contacted the amazing and lovely owner Abdennour Mazoz. He’s an amazing man and he did everything. I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to take the time to share how amazing our experience was with Oryx Voyages. and it was our first time doing something like this. Not only did they handle our Algerian tourist visa professionally and quickly, but they went above and beyond by also offering us an unforgettable tour of Algiers. Honestly, it was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had while traveling. We got to see so many historic and cultural landmarks – from the Martyrs’ Memorial and the Casbah, to incredible museums, mosques, and the lively Martyrs’ Square. Every moment felt meaningful and exciting. We also had the chance to eat at some fantastic local restaurants (the food scene in Algiers is unreal), and the whole time we felt like we were being shown around by someone who truly loves their city and knows it inside out. You can tell this isn’t just a business for them – they really care about making your experience special. We came to Algeria unsure of what to expect, and left with memories we’ll never forget. I would 100% recommend Oryx Voyages to anyone thinking of visiting Algeria. Whether it’s for help with the visa or for discovering the city like a local, this is the team you want behind you. Algeria has an abundance of cultural riches and natural beauty to offer the discerning traveller and Oryx Voyages is set-up to deliver the perfect tailored experience of all of them. We wanted a bespoke tour that was not just a tweaked off-the-shelf itinerary but specific to our particular preferences and interests. We are delighted to say that after a rapid process of Whatsapp interactions with Abdenour , Oryx’s owner, a balanced itinerary was turned around extremely quickly. Any questions were answered promptly and with clarity which gave us a high degree of confidence in the quality of the arrangements being made on our behalf. The final written itinerary was reassuringly detailed which meant all the logistics and costs were transparent. Exactly how things need to be when travelling to a country for the first time. Abdenour is highly-engaged and quality-focussed and, as he did in our case, often acts as tour leader throughout your stay. As a result, he is able to ensure that only the best local guides get repeat business and that any glitches along the way are resolved quickly. He welcomes feedback and is always looking to find ways of getting ever closer to perfection in the holidays he crafts. Oryx is a small and friendly company which, nevertheless, has the network of contacts, deep cultural knowledge and commitment to quality that ensures that they can offer any kind of themed tour whether focussing on history & culture or taking a deep-dive into the Sahara.
