This 12-day journey is a complete north-to-south traverse of Algeria. The adventure begins in the Mediterranean capital of Algiers before tracing the coast to explore ancient Roman sites and the stunning cliffs of Béjaia. We then move inland to the dramatic "City of Bridges," Constantine, serving as a gateway to the unparalleled Roman ruins of Djemila and Timgad. The final leg flies you south to the Sahara, where you will immerse yourself in the unique culture, architecture, and desert landscapes of the UNESCO-protected M'zab Valley in Ghardaia, offering a profound contrast to the northern historical sites.

Day 01 :

Algiers, The White City

Welcome to Algiers! You’ll be greeted at the airport by our Oryx Voyage representative and transferred to your hotel. Relax and settle in for your Algerian adventure. Overnight in Algiers.

Day 02 :

Algiers, The White City

A full day discovering the capital. Explore the UNESCO-listed Casbah, a labyrinth of history. Visit the Bardo Museum, the iconic Notre Dame d'Afrique basilica, the Hamma Garden, the Martyr's Memorial, the Great Mosque, and the historic La Grande Poste.

Day 03 :

The Ancient Kingdom of Tipaza

Drive west to the coastal town of Tipaza. Visit the enigmatic Mausolée Royal de Maurétanie, then explore the Roman ruins and museum by the sea. Continue to Cherchel to see its museum, port, and city center before returning to Algiers.

Day 04 :

The Emerald Coast of Béjaia

A scenic road trip to Béjaia. Discover its stunning natural beauty: Cap Carbon, Monkey's Peak, Lala Gouraya Mountain, Zigouat Beach, and Cap Bouak. Explore the vibrant city center and historic Gueydon Square.

Day 05 :

From the Coast to the Mountains of Constantine

Before leaving Béjaia, visit its historic Casbah. En route to Djemila, stop at the beautiful Kefrida Waterfalls. Arrive at the UNESCO site of Djemila to explore its museum and breathtaking Roman ruins. Continue your journey to Constantine for check-in.

Day 06 :

Constantine, The City of Bridges

A full day tour of Algeria's most dramatic city. Discover its iconic bridges spanning the Rhumel Gorges, the opulent Ahmed Bey Palace, the El Amir Mosque, the historic Casbah, and the lively local markets.

Day 07 :

The Majesty of Timgad and the Ghoufi Canyon

A road trip to Batna. First, visit the Imadghassen Mausoleum. Then, explore the magnificent UNESCO-listed Roman city of Timgad, including its museum. Continue to the Ghoufi Balconies for breathtaking views before returning to Timgad to overnight.

Day 08 :

To the Gateway of the Desert

Drive back to Constantine for more final landmarks before transferring to the airport for your flight to Ghardaia. Upon arrival, meet your Mozabite guide and transfer to your hotel.

Day 09 :

Discovering the M'zab Valley

Explore Ghardaia's market and its iconic, fortified Ksar. Enjoy a traditional lunch in a local house. Visit the preserved town of Beni Isguen and ascend Afilalet Hill for a panoramic sunset over the palm oasis.

Day 10 :

Desert Safari & Ancient Systems

Visit a local oasis to learn about the ancient Foggara irrigation system. Explore El Atteuf Ksar and the Mausolée of Cheikh Sidi Ami Brahim. In the afternoon, embark on a 4x4 desert safari in El Guerrara, culminating in a traditional dinner in the dunes before returning to Ghardaia.

Day 11 :

Farewell to the M'zab

Enjoy a final morning in Ghardaia for last-minute souvenir shopping at the vibrant markets. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Algiers.
